Carrie Marie Underwood (born March 10, 1983) is a very talented American country music singer who was able to further her career by winning the title of the fourth season of American Idol and used that victory to become a successful recording artist, and Carrie has won two Academy of Country Awards.

Even though the lovely Carrie Underwood’s career is just starting, she has already been nominated for quite a few awards and she also won quite a few of them. At the 2005 Billboard Music Awards, she won all three of the categories she was nominated (Top-Selling Hot 100 Song of the Year, Country Single Sales Artist Of The Year and Top-Selling Country Single Of The Year)
In 2006 at the Gospel Music Association Music Awards, she was only nominated for one award (Country Recorded Song of The Year) but she walked away with a victory. At the 2006 Country Music Television Music Awards, he winning streak ended but she was still able to pick up 2 our of 3 awards (Female Video of the year and Breakthrough Video of the Year) while only loosing one (Most Inspiring Video of the Year)
She also walked away with two more awards at the 2006 Academy of Country Music Awards. She won Top New Female Vocalist of the year and Single Record of the year. She was also nominated for two more awards, Top Female Vocalist of the year and Song of the year.

On May twenty sixth, two thousand and five, U.S. Senator Tom Coburn who hails from Oklahoma, presented a resolution congratulating Carrie Underwood for winning American Idol and for being a positive role model. The resolution also goes on to thank her for representing the state of Oklahoma as “an intelligent, kind, considerate young woman” to millions of television viewers and impressionable youth around the world.
The resolution was then submitted to the United States Senate, and then referred to the Committee on the Judiciary.
As a result of this entire process, May 25 was officially declared Carrie Underwood Day in the state of Oklahoma.
